DLG2016_Pinc Louds and Bear come to the studio to play in every sense of the word~

I had run out of time and desperate to get a guest on my show in less than 24 hours. Magic happens when I get into the Delancey St. station and am drawn into Pinc Louds musical vortex.
Talent, beauty and authenticity begin to describe this truly original being. Claudi brought her stand-up bass player, Bear and we had a super fun and revealing conversation about how Claudi came to America from an island and what her childhood was like (happy family, musician dad). Plus these two were so excited about being on the show, it boosted my self-esteem! https://www.facebook.com/pincloudsings/ https://pinclouds.bandcamp.com/ @pinc_louds #music #psychotherapy #pinclouds #artDLG1715_Whitney Houston Biennial founder, Finley had unconditional love as a child.

Great session today with Finley Christine! We talked about her experience at The Whitney Houston Biennial https://www.whitneyhoustonbiennial.com/ (mostly great), what she learned (engage with young collectors!) and her family and childhood-unconditional love and a hospice mother - and more that is too personal for writing here! See Finley's art here-she wallpapers DUMPSTERS all over the world! http://iamfinley.com/ #WhitneyHoustonBiennial #art #SPRING/BREAKArtFair #FinleyDLG1714_New Yorker Cartoonist Jeremy Nguyen is SO BROOKLYN but not really.

I excavated this side of Jeremy that is pretty deep in there. He's a fantastic cartoonist that has broken a lot of ground making fun of Brooklyn hipsters. I dug into Jeremy and found out the important influence his Vietnamese immigrant parents have had on his becoming successful. They kicked

The easiest way to describe what Joseph Keckler makes is music. But that doesn't begin to cover it-the Vice Articles, videos, books and EVERYTHING.. The New York Times declared him a “major vocal talent” who “shatters conventional boundaries. In this session we explore Joseph's creative process and how he handles the press making such a fuss about him. He is very genuine the whole time I am asking him bull-in-a-china-shop questions. I got to meet him because he is the talent for the Art F City Benefit this year and I am helping plan it. LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC - completely unique and undescribable: http://www.josephkeckler.com/

Kosmo Vinyl is currently an artist completely driven by his work which is terrific and funny: https://kosmovinyl.com/ Kosmo is famous for having managed the Clash but very humble about all that —we had a meaningful conversation about his growing up-very British blue collar-he was lured at a young age by his love of American blues and jazz. His life experiences are very much book-worthy, but as a "therapist" I wanted to understand why someone in the middle of an incredible rock and roll life would settle down to be a devoted father and husband. Let's just say - Kosmo had good values-he seems like a happy man who has great relationships with his young men sons and wife. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosmo_Vinyl #art #music #theClash #therapyDLG1711 David Humphrey, artist and someone who I kept an eye on in the 80's-he didn't know...

I was prompted to invite David Humphrey on my show due to his recent exhibition-terrific!-at blue chip gallery, Fredricks and Fraiser. http://www.fredericksfreisergallery.com/artists/david-humphrey We had a great talk about his work and explored how he wants his viewers to make up stories with the elements in the work. I had a crush on David in my youth - he was friends with my neighbor-but we were both involved with other people and he never found out. It was fun bringing it full circle on this show now that we are both happily married grownups. His wife, Jennifer Coates is an amazing artist as well and has a show up till April 16 at http://www.freightandvolume.com/ #psychotherapy #artDLG1710 Collin

I really connected with Sharon Spell. Sharon is a comedian and podcast host of https://www.facebook.com/TheSharonSpellShow I had that rare feeling of a new best friend - brought down by the reality that we're all too busy to hang out anymore. Sharon spoke honestly and directly about drinking, divorce and how great things are now after all she's been through. Her guy she's with now is a keeper! #comedy #divorce #drinking #therapyDLG1707 Casey James Salengo, comedian and potential blind date.

Dr. Lisa really DOES give a sh*t. Dr. Lisa Levy S.P. (Self-Proclaimed) has been performing psychotherapy on stage, on the street and in her studio/office since 2001, and she’s better than a lot of certified shrinks because psychoanalysis and therapy is not a job for her, it’s an obsession. In these sessions, her subjects will all be interviewed lying down which helps them free associate. Dr. Lisa will get to the essence of what makes people who they are and what their obstacles have been, and maybe help solve some issues along the way. She doesn’t mess around either, why waste time since she’s not making money on having people come back?
Lisa Levy is a conceptual artist, painter, comedic performer and (self-proclaimed) psychotherapist. Her visual art has been widely exhibited at many venues including The New Museum, The Bronx Museum, SPRING/BREAK Art Fair, The Pulse Art Fair and The Brooklyn Academy of Music and Christopher Stout Gallery. As a live performer, her most popular character is Dr. Lisa, S.P. (self-proclaimed) who psychoanalyzes people on screen, stage, on the street and on her weekly Radio Free Brooklyn show. She has performed at countless venues and theaters including The Brooklyn Museum, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Lisa Levy will be debuting a solo show at Christopher Stout’s ADO Projects this November titled, You Can’t Take it With You a humorous perspective on death.
